The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) issued a memorandum (CHED Memorandum Order No. 28) in 2011, outlining the Policies, Standards and Guidelines for Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Management (BS REM). Central Philippine University is a non-stock, non-profit Christian Institution of higher learning, where a well-rounded program of education is offered under influences that strengthen faith and build up character. It was founded in 1905 as the Jaro Industrial School by missionaries of the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society. It started as an Elementary Vocational School for poor boys who worked for their board and tuition.
In 114 years, CPU has grown from an elementary school with 17 pupils to a widely known university with an enrollment of over 12,000. The 24-hectare campus, which was originally chosen for its quiet and relative isolation, is now a veritable community by itself, with more than 30 buildings used for classrooms and support facilities.

Saint Paul School of Professional Studies
Following a labor-management dispute in 1994 which was unresolved by the courts, the now-defunct Divine Word University of Tacloban (DWUT), then the region’s biggest university, closed operations. On the same year, Saint Paul’s Business School of Tacloban (SPBST) now Saint Paul School of Business and Law (SPSBL) was founded to accommodate graduating seniors.
Three years later, from a rented and abandoned public wet market set as its campus in Marasbaras, Tacloban City (now the Robinsons Place Tacloban), SPBS transferred to a one hectare space along the Campetic road in Palo, Leyte where a new building stood to serve an expected increase in the enrolment.
In its 25 years of providing quality tertiary education to Eastern Visayas, SPSBL graduates demonstrated exemplary performances both in Philippine and Global Licensure Examinations.
