FilipinoHomes opened its 143rd office in Surigao City on May 28, led by UM Matchette Ligaya under Team Royalties, as CEO Anthony Leuterio greeted remotely from Las Vegas.
SURIGAO CITY — On May 28, 2026, the fastest‑growing real estate brokerage network in the Philippines planted its flag in the country's northeastern gateway. Filipinohomes officially opened its 143rd office on the second floor of the Motormate Building along Rizal Street in Barangay Washington, Surigao City. The blessing and inauguration ceremony was led by newly promoted Unit Manager Matchette Ligaya, who will steer the new branch under the banner of Team Royalties.
The Surigao opening marks the 15th office for Team Royalties, one of the network's most prolific teams, whose leader Marlou Hinay attended in person alongside Filipinohomes secretaries who made the trip to support the launch. "This milestone would not be possible without the dedication, unity, and hard work of our amazing Team Surigao," said Zonalyn Sanaga Arawe, a team member who documented the ceremony. The Surigao office becomes the first Filipinohomes branch in the Caraga region.
A CEO's Message Across the Pacific
Half a world away, in Las Vegas, Nevada, Filipinohomes founder and CEO Anthony Gerard Leuterio was wrapping up an interview with PHLV Radio when the Surigao team cut the ribbon. Rather than send a prepared statement, Leuterio recorded a personal video message that same morning, addressing the Surigao team directly despite the 15‑hour time difference. The gesture underscored a management philosophy that has defined the network's expansion: no office opens without leadership acknowledging the people who made it possible.
The Las Vegas interview, hosted by award‑winning "On The Dot" anchors Dorothy and Mia Martine Casemio on the recently crowned Best FilAm Media of the Year, had covered the genesis of Rent.ph, Homes.ph, Filipinohomes, the Bayanihan.com global platform, and the network's partnership with over 600 developers. Hours later, the 2024 International Realtor of the Year was speaking directly to his newest branch. The Surigao opening is the 143rd office in a network that opened its 142nd branch in Bacolod City just 22 days earlier, and is now racing toward 150.

Surigao City is not an accidental choice. The capital of Surigao del Norte serves as the commercial and transportation hub of the Caraga region, a gateway to the Dinagat Islands, Siargao, and the resource‑rich municipalities of mainland Mindanao. For Filipinohomes, the office positions the network at the intersection of regional tourism growth, OFW remittance flows, and a growing base of young professionals seeking property in a city where development momentum is accelerating.
Ligaya, whose promotion to Unit Manager coincided with the office opening, will lead a team that connects Surigaonons and Caraga residents to the 1,800‑plus projects FilipinoHomes markets nationwide. The office will also extend the network's rent‑management and resale platforms to a region that has long been underserved by institutional real‑estate brokerage services. For the agents who gathered on the second floor of the Motormate Building on Wednesday, the blessing was both a ribbon‑cutting and a starting gun.
