- In every first month of the year, January 14, Surigaonons celebrate the Sto. Niño de Bad-asay Fiesta. It’s a celebration for the feast of the holy child Jesus Christ. It’s more of like what Cebu City has been celebrating every January. It’s just that Surigaonon celebrate it with more emphasis on the child instead of the glamorous street dancing and mardi gras from other provinces.

Sakay-Sakay Abayan Festival (June 1)
A procession at sea in honor of the Patron Saint of Barangay Taft, Virgen de la Paz y Buen Biaje. The patroness of Good Voyage is carried aboard a beautiful adorned lead vessel followed by colorful motorboats, and bancas passing along the historic Surigao Strait.

Tilaw Food Festival (August 29-31)
Tilaw means taste. This event showcases the Surigaonon culinary heritage through food fairs and competitions designed to upgrade the city’s food and beverage industry.

Bonok-Bonok Maradjaw Karadjaw Festival (September 10)
Bonok-bonok maradjaw karadjaw festival is an award-winning cultural-religious festival highlighted by a street dance parade depicting the legends and lifestyle of the indigenous Mamanwa Tribes. The festival is also a tribute to St. Nicholas, city’s Patron Saint, whose feast is observed on September 10.

Kaliguan Festival (June 21-25)
A yearly festival in honor of the patron saint St. John the baptist. Kaliguan means to take a bath or to get wet. The highlight of this festival is the Perlas ng Kaliguan beauty pageant and the beach dancing (instead of street dancing). This is celebrated in Cagwait, Surigao del Sur every June 21-25.

Pahinungod Festival (July 15)
This is a yearly festivity in honor of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. Pahinungod is a Bisaya/Cebuana term which means dedication. The highlight of this festival is the Mardi gras along the streets of Carrascal, Surigao del Sur. Celebrated every 15th of July

Lawigan Festival (May 14-15)
The meaning of Lawigan in english is voyage or non-stop journey. The festival is celebrated by the Municipality of Loreto, Dinagat Island which is actually a Foundation day celebration. The highlights of the celebration are the Barangay Competition, Mutya Ng Loreto, Dragon Race, Field Dance and Float Parade Competition. There are also Agro- fishing seminars and trade fair. Tinabangay Festival (Feb 22)
Tinabangay Festival happens every February 22 of each year. Tinabangay comes from a bisaya word “tabang” which means help, tinabangay then means to help together as a community or bayanihan. Tinabangay festival is celebrated by the island town of Socorro in the province of Surigao del Norte. Socorro is more popularly known as Bucas Grande Island, the home of CARAGA’s pristine beaches, unspoiled coves and enchanted lagoons.
