Filipinohomes held a new agents orientation in Bacolod on April 18, 2026, at GT Hotel, fulfilling a date set during an April 11 planning meeting in Bago City. Participants learned real estate fundamentals as the network supports Bacolod's emergence as a major growth hub in Western Visayas.
BACOLOD CITY – The new agents orientation held at GT Hotel on April 18, 2026, marked the successful execution of a key date in Filipinohomes' previously announced Bacolod schedule.
The session fulfilled a commitment made by the Filipinohomes team in Bago City, Negros Occidental, during an April 11 planning meeting, where a calendar for Bacolod was drawn up. That schedule listed a new agents orientation for April 18 as one of five training and community events for the month.
From plan to execution
The April 11 meeting in Bago City, which gathered local unit managers and team leaders, mapped out a busy April for Bacolod. The lineup included a WeeComm project briefing for newbies on April 14, a One Comm PKS on April 16, the new agents orientation on April 18, a starter kit training on April 20, and a Ferti Acres PKS on April 22.
Saturday's orientation at GT Hotel delivered on that promise, bringing in aspiring real estate professionals with little to no experience. Participants learned client acquisition, property marketing, digital lead generation, and how to access Filipino Homes' national property database.
The timing of the orientation aligns with Bacolod's emergence as one of the country's most dynamic real estate markets outside Metro Manila. The city's economy remains a powerhouse in Western Visayas with a 4.9% growth rate, driven by a diverse mix of IT-BPM, wholesale and retail trade, and high-value manufacturing. Its Gross Domestic Product reached PHP146.09 billion in 2023, with services accounting for 74.6 percent of the total economy. For 2026, the city government has proposed a PHP4.75-billion budget, a 7.96 percent increase from the previous year, reflecting sustained investment in infrastructure and public services.
Major developers have taken notice. SM Development Corporation (SMDC) is strengthening its footprint in Western Visayas, with approximately 1,100 units at Smile Residences in Bacolod slated for turnover starting mid-2026. The company is also developing Parkville, a 52-hectare lots-only residential estate in Sta. Fe, Bacolod, supported by a four-lane elevated bridge providing direct access to Burgos Avenue. Megaworld has already launched 1,787 residential condominium units across five properties in The Upper East, with demand remaining high. PHINMA Properties, meanwhile, is developing Saludad Township, a 21-hectare master-planned community in Bacolod's North District that includes residential neighborhoods, commercial areas, and the TRYP by Wyndham Bacolod hotel.
The city has also made strides in affordable housing through public-private partnerships. The National Housing Authority turned over the first 104 units of MassKara Village in Barangay Sum-ag on March 24, 2026, a 7.3-hectare socialized housing development with 500 two-storey duplex units designed for government employees and overseas Filipino workers, available through Pag-IBIG financing with monthly amortizations as low as PHP15,000.
On the infrastructure front, Bacolod has entered into a 10-year PHP2.105-billion agreement with High-Data Infra Corp. to develop the Bacolod Super City Project, which includes a centralized command center for monitoring traffic, natural disasters, and criminal activities, as well as intelligent streetlamps and a property tax assessment system.
Taken together, these indicators show that Bacolod is no longer just a secondary market — it is a destination for developers, investors, and real estate professionals alike. For new agents entering the industry, the city offers a fertile ground for building sustainable careers.
With the April 18 orientation successfully completed, the Bacolod team now prepares for the remaining April activities: starter kit training on April 20 and a Ferti Acres product knowledge session on April 22. The momentum in Negros Occidental continues to build, supported by the city's growing real estate market and sustained demand for housing.
For the new agents who filled GT Hotel on Saturday, the path from planning to practice has begun — exactly as the Bago City team envisioned just one week earlier.
